LiquidPlanner has been designed and built as an online project management software with priorities as the most important thing to have effective teams and successful projects. In the last quarter of 2013, several upgrades and enhancements were made that reflects that same philosophy. As it continues its commitment to better service, quality and reliability for its customers, LiquidPlanner now comes with bundles of improvements.
Search Feature Improvements
Previously, users could only enter a name to search for items, so the search result is only as good as the user’s ability to recall names. With the LiquidPlanner latest upgrade, users can now search by any phrase or word. Moreover, the search will go through everything in the workspace, which includes projects, attached documents, comments and checklists. Therefore, the workspace has become one huge resource of project information, items and details. But the real improvements can be experienced in how the project management software is handling the search operation better in five ways. Searching is now faster. It is more comprehensive. The results are well-organized. They looked better, so that it is easier to go through. Also, more customizable options have been added with the use of filters.
Android Application Upgrades
LiquidPlanner has mobile project management features even before, with support for iOS and Android applications. However, the LiquidPlanner latest upgrade includes two improvements on Android applications. First, it now supports tablets and screens of different sizes. If the user’s smartphone or tablet has a screen of more than 5 inches, he or she will be able to take advantage of the enhancements, which brings us to the second improvement. The latest version includes the Edit Panel, Checklists, and Schedule Bars, which ultimately put more power to the user to be able to update plans and manage projects on the go.
The latest Android app improvements now allow users to see schedule bars for a project so they can easily get an overview. From this screen, just by tapping a schedule bar or a project item, other views will slide to appear on the right side of the screen. For example, the Edit Panel can appear for the user to make changes in tasks, status or estimates. Checklists can also be created and assigned to task owners. It is possible to view attached documents to a task or project, and allow the mobile user to upload and attach photos to a workspace item. And most importantly, users can reprioritize tasks, Projects, Packages, and Subfolders using drag and drop.
Edit Panel Enhancements
In LiquidPlanner, the Edit Panel is a very important screen where a lot of work is done. It is important, therefore, that this screen remains powerful, efficient and practical. The latest upgrade now includes sleek improvements so that it continues to be relevant and central for work being done. The Edit Panel sports a more streamlined design with a text header and a file type identifier at the panel header. It also has a rich text editor that allows users to spell check, insert images, and work in full screen.
The Edit Panel also has a new expand/collapse section where users can customize which sections they want to display based on common usage. This setting will be retained always unless changes to the setting are made. For instance, the user may want that the Comments, Notes and Dependencies sections are always opened and the Details section closed when viewing the Edit Panel. There are also more choices now in viewing a specific set of documents attached in Projects, Packages and Subfolders. Users can reply to all and instantly send a comment to everyone instead of having to type all the names. With one click, a Task can be converted to an Event or Milestone. Also, it is now possible to include links to any workspace item, not just external websites as before.
In summary, the LiquidPlanner latest upgrade includes 5 search improvements, 2 Android app upgrades, and an Edit Panel with a lot of enhancements. Who knows what other surprises you may discover.
