Overview Presentation

Methvin is an online estimating software, collaborative project management platform, and tender portal for the construction industry. It is a suite of easy-to-use tools for estimating, scheduling with Gantt chart, collaboration with agile Kanban board, and takeoff that works with various drawing formats. The Tender Portal provides users an online workspace where contractors and subcontractors can easily submit bids in an complete and secure way.

Features, Benefits, Strengths

  • Online Estimating Tool – Methvin enables users to generate accurate cost estimates and quality bids quickly. By allowing users to link worksheets to multiple tasks, set variables, and break tasks into smaller sub-schedules, the software can produce accurate pricing fast. Aside from sub-schedules, it has options for simple or complex estimating, click-and-drag feature to streamline pricing tasks and improve the accuracy of the tender. These can then be printed or exported in Excel format as a quote. It has formulas that compute from user-defined variables, such as distance from site, for example. Previous computations can then be re-used for similar projects with just a simple change of variables. Users can make use of any mathematical function available in Java.
  • Collaborative Project Management – The online construction software allows users to create Gantt schedules where they can import WBS, quantities and production rates. Tasks can then be scheduled, organized, and linked to a timeline. By sharing it online, they can invite collaborators to work remotely. It has dropdown menus and critical path highlighting features, too. Reporting tools help measure progress and resource allocation. A Kanban board view provides a visual card system that facilitates delegation of tasks, real-time and complete tracking of the progress of tasks. A document management system with registration and date stamping organizes all project-related drawings and files in a central, accessible and secure location.
  • Tender Portal, Takeoff Tools, Deployment Options, and more – Methvin is also a secure online community where users can share their documents, allowing contractors and subcontractors access the documents, send response, and submit proposals in a faster way. It increases transparency, but provides complete oversight to the users. Benefits of the online Tender Box includes complete audit trail of the process, cost-effective communication with a built-in system to respond to queries from contractors and suppliers, and quick comparison, item by item, using an online spreadsheet. Web-based takeoff tools can open and measure DWG, DXF, and PDF image files. Other features include email notifications to alert users about call for tenders, looking for subcontractors, trends in procurement, and more. Users can also request to have the software installed on their own servers.
