hello project managers welcome to the latest video about you know what I don't think this is gonna work Zoom me back in oh okay much better welcome to the latest video about the top free project management mobile app you see having a much larger screen to work with is always preferred but sometimes we have to use smaller screens like our mobile phones so you get projects done and meet deadlines sadly not all free project management software translates well as a mobile app if you're a project manager on the go then you might have moments when you need to work off your phone using only your phone it's not ideal but using an app with a well-crafted interface will make all the difference before we dive into the list here are some things you should know first one there are quite a few project manager apps out on the market but I decided to just focus on five that have been frequently discussed on this channel before two I only had access to the free versions any features that are included through the paid versions will not be considered three I tested all these apps with an iPhone 13 with iOS 16.5 installed so the interfaces could be different depending on when you watch this video and what device you use and four this list will be based on my personal preferences I highly encourage you to go and give each of these apps a try for yourself you can find links to each in the description below now let's begin Trello is first on this list for one big reason it seems only the card view is available for the free version no matter what template you're working with such as kanban agile Sprints Etc all of them are presented as cards this is pretty limiting especially for those who prefer different view types like timelines calendars and grids however I did like the features that are included when creating a card such as checklists attachments and a chat box it's also pretty easy to move cards to different lists within your project and it's nice you can personalize each board for better organization next up is Reich this app also prioritizes one view type however I placed it above Trello because it also includes a Gantt chart View granted the chart isn't perfect because the tasks appear very small and it's difficult to select them to edit something I recommend editing them in the list view first and then reviewing them in the Gantt chart on top of all that some features can't be accessed on the mobile apps but they did include a time tracker feature which is great for managing your productivity speed click up came so close to securing the second place spot however it ended up as third because it lacks certain common features for example there isn't a way to add subtasks within a group task so if multiple people are assigned to it there isn't a simple way to communicate responsibilities except by detailing it within the task description other than that I thought the ux was easy to understand plus it includes a Time tracking feature which is always a bonus for me ranked number two is a sauna not only does it offer more task customizations unlike click up it gives you the ability to move and adjust tasks across multiple projects with ease along with that I thought the calendar view was well designed it's list view however could use some tweaking in terms of appearance because it's a bit difficult to tell task apart from one another especially when you don't add a custom emoji my favorite app hands down or phones down is monday.com Everything feels intuitive and that's probably because it's ux is extremely similar to its desktop counterpart you have access to multiple view types customizations and setting restrictions plus building projects and adding tasks doesn't feel complex in the slightest it does have a couple of minor flaws one is that you can't see your entire project outline at a glance and two you can't read the title of a task in the timeline view unless you flip your phone horizontally but even then it's still kind of tricky and that's the end of my list what did you think of my choices if you have a different ranking then be sure to tell me about it in the comments below but before you go don't forget to click the like icon hit the Subscribe button and visit project dashmanagement.com for other PM Solutions thanks for watching
