It launched to the public in 2011 and immediately took in clients like Greenpeace, InMobi and Rebate Networks. With the idea of changing how people get work done, it offered options other than email and spreadsheets. The workspace software also provided people the ability to build task-specific apps and share it in the system’s app market. In April 2012, Citrix Systems, a publicly traded American multinational company based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and founded in 1989, acquired Podio. Now under Citrix Online Services Division, Podio will help extend the company’s ability to provide a simple and secure collaborative work platform.
