LiquidPlanner New Features – Fresh Visuals, Processes, and more
LiquidPlanner is an online project management software that helps users build project plans around priorities. The team behind the software and the company has always believed that setting and communicating priorities is the most important thing to be effective. All its features such as project scheduling, team planning, collaboration, analytics and especially time tracking and approval have been designed to support this philosophy. Based on popular user demand, previous releases have included enhancements on the Settings and People tabs, Card views, and Timesheet exports. The August Release shows the continued efforts on improving Timesheets, its review process, and more.
Timesheet Visual Updates
LiquidPlanner has given its Timesheet a refreshed look with lighter elements and dialog boxes. The order of tasks appear differently now based on an updated algorithm. Thus, first to appear will be tasks with timers, followed by pinned tasks, upcoming ones scheduled to start in the next 7 days, and so on. Enhancements include a popular request where items in the Timesheet can be grouped by Project, Client, or Custom Field, among others. Users can also expand or collapse each category. A summary or roll-up of the hours for each category appear in black while the roll-up hours logged for the day appear in blue. A filter-by-date allows users see just the tasks they have tracked time for a specific day or week.
Some changes have been made compared to the previous Timesheet. The gear icon representing settings has been removed from the left navigation bar. Studies have shown that users rather go to the Settings tab to make changes. Now, when users add a task to the Timesheet, they can stay on the page and track time immediately rather than go to Active Tasks. Pinned tasks marked done before April 2014 have been automatically unpinned but still possible to have it back by contacting Support.
Review Process Updates
Another major feature enhancement from LiquidPlanner online project management software is an in-app review feedback. Through the Request Update function, managers can send messages to team members to update or complete their timesheets. A message will appear on top of their timesheets and it will remain until the requester removes it or clicks “Approve & Lock. ” Also, managers can edit once more their team members’ timesheets through the Re-Open button in Timesheet Review.
Edit Panel Updates
Visual changes have also been applied on LiquidPlanner‘s Edit Panel. This panel allows for quick and easy edits to any item in the Projects tab or My Work tab. The redesign has made it easier to find things for a better user experience. The same fields appear in the panel, but a new grouping into Description, Location, Planning and Detail sections has further streamlined the panel. As a result, there is easier access to highly used fields, plus increased visibility of the panel to laptop users. Also, when a user adds a comment in a section of the Edit Panel, and then navigates away to a different section without saving the text, the text will not be lost. When navigating away from the item entirely, an alert will appear asking if the user wishes to post the comment before leaving.
Help Tab Updates
LiquidPlanner online project management software is not only effective but also simple to use. It has help guides, videos and webinars on its site to help users get started. In this August Release, even the Help Tab has been redesigned to make it easier for users to access the Learning and Support section. Now, members can even see the names and email address of the workspace owners just in case a more personal assistance is required.
New Trial Workspaces
LiquidPlanner gives interested people 30 days to test the software. During this period, they can create a trial workspace that is fully functional. Some updates have been made in trial workspaces, and they now include a Getting Started package. This package contains helpful instructions for new users in how to set up their workspace and how to get their team onboard and ready.
Simple and Effective Project Management
The August Release of LiquidPlanner online project management software contains many more enhancements. For instance, tasks may be re-estimated to 0-0 hours from the Edit Panel. Custom field values with spaces in them can be now added through the Add Tasks or Add Project dialog box by enclosing them in quotation marks.
