Evernote : Features and Strengths

Task Management and Scheduling

The Evernote app allows users to turn to-dos in their notes into tasks they can track through to completion. Notes and tasks provide full context of what to do and the information on how to do it without interrupting the workflow.

Users can sort their tasks by note, due date, or flagged status with the option to apply filters. They can also prioritize with flags, sync across devices, and get reminders for tasks needing their attention. App integration with Google Calendar helps users streamline daily work processes, add date and time info into notes, keep track of commitments, and use date and time to search for event details.

Notes Organization, Sync, and Search

The app provides a central Home view that instantly displays relevant information front and center. It is flexible enough to let users create their own organization system or maximize search capabilities. App users can organize better with keyword tagging that applies across different notebooks.

Evernote users can also search within handwritten notes, photos of whiteboards, sticky notes, PDFs, Office docs, images, presentations, and scanned documents. Advanced search options let users narrow search results by filtering or applying Boolean operators. The app also has an offline mode.

Centralized View, Web Clipper, Document Scanning, and more

The app’s Home view lets users add multiple scratch pad and pinned note widgets. They can customize the background, jot down a quick note on a scratch pad, and view recently captured content with sync across devices. The Web Clipper helps users curate web content, so they can focus on what is important. It can clip various formats including those from Amazon, YouTube, and LinkedIn.

Users can also scan important documents like business cards, healthcare and insurance files, and warranty and product information. Handwritten notes can be digitized, keeping them safe and accessible. Further, users can create and customize note templates to save time and effort.
